35. Cost of Discipleship
Luke 14:25-35
Spoken by Yeshua as he teaches a great multitude who is following him at the end of 27 CE.
Luke 14:25 Great multitudes went with him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 Which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down first, and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he has laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build, and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sits not down first, and consults whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an ambassador, and desires conditions of peace. 33 So likewise, weigh the cost, whoever he be of you that forsakes not all that he has, he cannot be my disciple. 34 Salt is good: but if the salt has lost his savor, how can it be re-seasoned? 35 It is neither fit for the land, or for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Our desire to give all is hampered by the works of the world. The path unseen is covered with the salt cast out by those they have never tasted honey with what is tread out under the feet of evil and carnal men.

But why is a tower compared to waring men? Who leaves his brother with only a foundation and gives him not the blocks he needs to finish the skin? A life is made for teaching others, a life as a disciple to Him. One who forsakes his family, so that he may set stones and share bread with young strong men. All of whom can be made ready as end time warriors against the order of the world set forth by skull and bones men.
The cost is forever and ever to be paid with joy again and again. It is the greatest mystery of all, when the revelation comes upon us before the Great and Terrible Day of Our Lord begins. Let us draw the parable sword and go forth swinging mightily with revelation light in dark places, walking in blood deep as a horses bridle as disciples of Our Lord and Savior - Yeshua King of King’s and Lord of Lord’s!
Like goats to the slaughter they'll come quickly upon us. Let the disciples swift swords remove their heads that the Mind of Christ can be placed upon them as was predestined before the world began.
